Day 1 :Arriving at our base in Diss, you can explore this quaint old market town or visit the famous Bressingham Gardens before departing for the coast with a gentle ride on very quiet lanes to an excellent small hotel in Harleston. Overnight stop-over in this charming country market town full of individually owned shops and traditional pubs.
Day 2 : Heading to Southwold through some of Suffolk’s most unspoilt countryside you can climb aboard historical aircraft at the amazing Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum. (free admission). After this you can explore the Norfolk Broads in a canoe at Bungay or an electric boat at Beccles before heading for Southwold in the afternoon. Once at the Coast you will discover the many delights of this sophisticated seaside town. (Brewery Tours, Fish Restaurants, Heritage Pier, Museum, Sandy Beach).
Day 3 : You can start by taking the rowing boat ferry to Walberswick before heading South towards Aldeburgh. You have the option of visiting the ‘ghost village’ of Dunwich, only a little now remains of this once large town which disappeared under the North Sea in the 18th century. Other options include a visit to the RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere or a short detour to Snape Maltings to view the Art Galleries and craft shops. If you want a more active cycle holiday you can opt to have lunch in one of Aldeburgh’s famous fish restaurants before heading inland later in the afternoon towards Framlingham and your overnight hotel.
Day 4 : Before heading back to Diss you can explore Framlingham’s amazing 12th Century Castle or sample the best local wines at Shawsgate Vineyard. Returning to Diss through the rolling countryside of North Suffolk, you have options to visit Saxted Windmill, a World War 2 memorial museum at Thorpe Abbotts or the small town of Eye with it's historic houses and folly.
You can also extend your Coastal Quest by having 2 or 3 additional nights staying in Dunwich, Orford and Woodbridge.
